Feminist Manifesto

It will be no surprise to readers that I am a huge fan of Tennis. When I first heard Ritual in Repeat in 2014, my life changed. The husband-wife duo is back with a single off their upcoming album Yours Conditionally. “Ladies Don’t Play Guitar” has been described by frontwoman Alaina Moore as her feminist manifesto. Lyrics dripping with sarcasm, Alaina verbally gives anyone who doubts her musical prowess the finger. Upon first listen, the guitar lick immediately reminded me of The Black Keys’ 2010 album Brothers. Come to find out later, the track was produced by The Black Keys’ own Patrick Carney. Listen to “Ladies Don’t Play Guitar” and revel in the soft rock satire of it all.
